Proper use of trademarks

Proper use and acknowledgement of trademarks is required by the Velcro Companies and our customers.

If you use genuine VELCRO® brand fasteners, we ask that you reference the trademark in the following manner:

1. Use the registration symbol and the word “BRAND” following the trademark. Also capitalize the mark VELCRO, e.g., “VELCRO® brand”.
2. Follow the word “BRAND” with the correct generic term. “VELCRO® brand” must be followed by the generic name of the tape or fastener, such as “hook-and-loop fastener” or “touch fastener”. For example, you might say “Our product features genuine VELCRO® brand fasteners.”
3. INCLUDE A TRADEMARK LEGEND: Include a notice statement that says: “VELCRO® is a registered trademark of Velcro BVBA.”

Throughout this web site, where the ® symbol is indicated, the symbol refers to a U.S. registration.
